Since you are just starting out, I’m sure you have a lot of questions. I know I did.
Moving from a reader to a writer on Medium is an exciting first step.
However, there are a couple of things you need to complete before I jump into why you need 100 followers on Medium.
Your First Steps as a New Writer on Medium

- Next, write an “about me” story. It’s easy to write your first story. Just click the little pencil (write) icon in the top right corner to get started. An “about me” story introduces you to the Medium community and helps people to get to know you as a new writer. If you need an example, take a look at my Hello Medium, I’m Sharon story. Don’t worry about making it perfect. Done is better than perfect at this point. You can always go back and edit it later.
Once you have completed those two steps, you are ready to start thinking about followers on Medium. The first question most new writers ask is,
“Why do I need 100 followers on Medium?”
