UiPath Orchestrator is the management hub where your new UiPath Robots work and receive guidance from your team.

Congratulations! You are well begun on your RPA Journey and you are ready to decide on your first automations, build your robots and start enjoying all that extra time saved.

Why Organizations Choose UiPath

UiPath Orchestrator allows organizations to have centralized oversight of all the robots working in your organization. This includes the Unattended robots that are housed in your central server doing work companywide. It also manages Attended robots that are housed on staff members desktops providing them with customized assistance.

Bot maintenance, output tracking and utilization can all be monitored and actioned here. Debugging and system errors can be handled quickly and correctly. Task priorities and utilization can be adjusted from this central terminal. Orchestrator also has access to the UiPath marketplace to purchase additional integrations or IT solutions and add them directly to your robot’s capabilities.

How It Works

In the same way as your human team, your digital workforce needs a management hub. Here in Orchestrator, you can change their tasks, or task priorities to keep resources focused on the most important work for your team. You will be alerted to problems or questions that your new robots need help with to improve their efficiency. Here is also where the robots log their time and tasks so you can see all the actions they have performed.

Key features of UiPath Orchestrator

Manage all your robots in one place

Your entire digital workforce can be managed from a central command center.

Orchestrator has access to all of the automations your company has designed and can change robot assignments to any of these tasks.

Access from anywhere

UiPath Orchestrator can be accessed through a web interface or mobile app.

It can also be accessed through API pulls into your own dashboards, making integration both modern and legacy systems easy.

Get notified about Bot breaks or disruptions

Interruptions in your automations can happen. Unexpected process variations can cause your robots to pause and wait for clarification on what to do. They can also cause robots to turn in work that is not what you expected.

Get notified right away when things don’t go as planned.

What types of robots can you manage in UiPath Orchestrator?

There are two main types of robots that you will use in most of your automations: Attended and Unattended Robots.

Attended Robots are those who interact directly with your human team. These robot assistants could be searching for client data in multiple systems to serve to the custom app you built in UiPath Apps. As your human team member completes the call, the robot can update that information in each of the necessary places.

Unattended Robots perform tasks that do not require time-sensitive interaction with your human staff. This could be receiving, reading, and processing client invoices, or creating and distributing weekly/monthly reports. Any repetitive rules-based task taking valuable time from your human team members.

As in any good office environment your digital workers can work together to complete more complex tasks than they could alone.

UiPath licensing for Orchestrator and Robots

When choosing your licensing for UiPath Orchestrator the biggest decision to make is Cloud or On-Premises hosting. There are many advantages to cloud hosting, being able to scale up or down, using fast cloud computing servers, and accessing your data from anywhere. There are also a few features only available on the cloud systems. Clients who need extreme control over their data may prefer to use their own On-Premises servers.

The second decision you will make is how many robots you need. Where the choice of infrastructure is more permanent, the number or robots you need varies like any other staffing demand.

Robots are not one for one to your automations and the processes they will ultimately action. Like human workers, your digital worker can only do one thing at a time. But they can do multiple tasks once queued by the Orchestrator. We recommend scaling up your digital workforce as your automation program grows, the same way you would approach hiring staff to support more volume.
