Tiny Tina's Wonderlands: Every Class, Ranked For Solo Players (2024)

So far, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has shown the gaming community that there's more to the shooter looter genre than only spraying and praying. This Borderlands spin-off has reintroduced the shooter looter genre by including unique gameplay features that make it even more fun to play than previous Borderlands games, like powerful spells that can melt bosses.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has also introduced several new classes that have proven powerful, each in their own way. For example, the Spellshot is a unique gunslinging mage that can wield two spells simultaneously, or the life-leeching Graveborn and its hellish companion. But, not all perform well during solo play, so players that want to experience the Wonderlands on their own should know which class will get them to the end.

Updated on June 6, 2023, by Stephen LaGioia: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands blends fantasy elements and satire with the classic Borderlands formula, in such a way that the game remains distinct over a year after launch. Given its , it naturally stresses a diversity of classes (as well as class combos) and customizations. These range from the ice-cold Brr-Zerker to a Ranger with a mushroom as a pet.

And now, with the new Shaman-esque Blightcaller, solo players have another viable choice. So we've decided to update this Tiny Tina's Wonderlands best class tier list. We'll go over some of the more notable Passive Skills for each class and touch on a few great class combos. With the game's robust Chaotic Great Edition on sale via Steam, there's no better time to dive into the fantasy-based action!

7 Graveborn - The Life Leech

Notable Graveborn Passive Skills:

• Harvest: Players that want to take full advantage of their companion will want to use this skill, especially during solo play. And that's because every kill grants all companions bonus Dark Magic Damage.
• Dark Hydra: Another Passive Skill well worth a player's skill point is Dark Hydra. This Passive Skill has a slight chance of spawning a maximum of 5 Dark Hydra companions for every kill.

Undoubtedly, the least solo-friendly class in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is the Graveborn since both of its Action Skills (Reaper of Bones and Dire Sacrifice) use the player's HP to cause damage to enemies. For example, Reaper of Bones increases HP steal and magic damage while draining a player's health bar. And as players can imagine, that can lead to unavoidable death, especially if the player is surrounded by enemies and doesn't have access to an HP potion.

But, of course, that doesn't mean a player can't use the Graveborn class to solo the entire campaign since this class has one skill (Dread Covenant) that redirects damage to their Demi-Lich companion. Fortunately, players can combine this class with another class to increase its survivability, but overall this class isn't the best suited for a solo playthrough.

6 Clawbringer - The Wyvern Wrangler

Notable Clawbringer Passive Skills:

• Dragon Aura: As seasoned Borderlands players know, having guns or skills that deal Elemental Damage is almost necessary to beat certain enemies or bosses. The Dragon Aura Passive Skill boosts Elemental Damage for the player, its companions, and allies.
• Oath of Fire: With this Passive Skill, players will deal additional Fire Damage with any weapon they use, regardless of its primary elemental type.

Most players assume that the Clawbringer is one of the weakest classes since its companion often dies and has limited damage potential. But, this class can be relatively useful for solo players since it has lots of skills that increase Ward capacity by quite a lot. Moreover, the Tier 2 skill "Rebuke" boosts Damage Reduction plus players gain a chance to reflect damage to enemies.

But, as with the Brr-Zerker, the Clawbringer lacks damage-based skills, so players should use the Spellshot or Graveborn as a secondary class. If players decide to use either of these as a secondary class, they'll be able to use two companions at the same time, which increases damage output.

5 Stabbomancer - The Critical Hit Specialist

Notable Stabbomancer Passive Skills:

• Potent Poisons: This Passive Skill pairs nicely with the Blightcaller as it increases Status Effect Damage and Duration.
• Contagion: Another powerful Passive Skill to use with the Blightcaller since there's a slight chance to spread Status Effects among enemies for every enemy afflicted with one.

Even though the Stabbomancer stresses stealth and has the best gun damage and status effect skills in Wonderlands, it's not the best class for solo gameplay since it lacks skills that add to survivability. But, what makes the Stabbomancer better than the Graveborn (in terms of solo players) is its Action Skill "From the Shadow," which turns a player invisible for a short amount of time.

Furthermore, that Action Skill has a low cooldown (36 seconds) which means players can use it to "poke" a boss from the shadows without risking their life. But, as previously mentioned, the Stabbomancer has no skills that can help them survive a solo playthrough, so players will need to use another beefy class to give it more survivability.

4 Brr-Zerker - The Enraged Berserker

Notable Brr-Zerker Passive Skills:

• Instinct: Players gain increased Reload Speed and Weapon Swap Speed. While this Passive may seem subpar, being able to quickly reload or switch weapons can be life-saving when facing more formidable enemies.
• Blood of the Fallen: Even though it's a Tier 6 Active Skill, Blood of the Fallen can be useful if a player's secondary class is Stabbomancer or Spellshot since it reduces Active Skill Cooldown for every kill.

Although the Brr-Zerker class is mostly aimed toward melee gameplay (which sadly isn't as powerful as it should be), the Brr-Zerker class also has plenty of skills that'll boost a player's HP and HP regeneration. For example, the Brr-Zerker's Tier 1 Skill "Unyielding" increases Health regeneration, and the effect is doubled if the player is Enraged.

And its Tier 4 Skill "Ancient Fury" increases the player's Maximum Health, which means players will be a lot harder to kill. But, with all these survival skills, the Brr-Zerker lacks decent damage output, so players should combine it with a damage-based class.

3 Spellshot - The Dual-Wielding Wizard

Notable Spellshot Passive Skills:

• Just Warming Up: This Passive Skill increases Fire Rate for every Spellweaving stack. Players can then reach an insane Fire Rate by saving their Spellweaving, which will help destroy any Chaos Chamber boss.
• War Caster: By having this Passive Skill maxed, players will have a chance to instantly reload their gun for every kill.

The Spellshot class is perhaps the most distinctive class in the entire Borderlands franchise as it focuses heavily on spells and not guns or melee weapons. Moreover, the Spellshot has lots of skills that players can use to take down elite enemies in a matter of seconds, like the High Thread Count skill that increases Spellweaving Stacks.

But, the reason why the Spellshot is a good solo is its Action Skill "Polymorph," since it transforms an enemy into a Skeep for a few seconds. And while the enemy is transformed, they'll not be able to attack and take increased damage from all sources. And if the player uses this Action Skill on a boss like Banshee or LeChance, they'll instantly cast a free Spell and gain two stacks of Spellweaving.

2 Spore Warden - The Mushroom Master

Notable Spore Warden Passive Skills:

• Kindred Heart: A must-have skill for any player that enjoys using companions as it increases Companion Health and Damage. That means players can essentially have two tanky Companions soaking up the damage.
• Quiver of Holding: Long-ranged guns and Rocket Launchers have notoriously small Magazine sizes. This Passive Skill is essential as it increases Magazine size and regenerates ammo for the currently equipped weapon.

The Spore Warden is among the best solo class in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands since its companion targets nearby enemies and deals Poison Elemental Damage. But, more than that, players can invest a skill point into the "Medicinal Mushroom" skill, which allows the mushroom companion to revive the player.

Furthermore, the player's mushroom companion "Spore Cloud" (Tier 2 skill) taunts enemies and leaves a Poison Cloud that deals damage over time. These two skills will help players survive throughout the entire campaign, especially if they combine the Spore Warden with the Graveborn class since they have useful skills that increase companion survivability.

1 Blightcaller - The Elemental Shaman

Notable Blightcaller Passive Skills:

• Active Decay: This Passive Skill increases overall Poison Damage, making it the ideal skill for the Spore Warden class.
• Geist in the Shell: Players that enjoy playing as a Stabbomancer main will want to use this Passive Skill as it creates a Poison Bog Spirit for every Critical Hit. The Poison Bog explodes on impact dealing Poison Damage within a small radius.

Elemental damage has been a key aspect of the Borderlands game series, and players who know how to use them effectively can mow through any enemy or boss. That's why the Blightcaller takes the cake as Tiny Tina's best class​ since it can synergize with all the different Elemental types. Furthermore, its Action Skill "Bog Totem" summons a Totem companion that releases elemental spirits based on the player's current weapon type.

The Virulence Passive Skill increases Status Effect application and duration by quite a bit, making every bullet cause massive Elemental Damage. Another reason the Blightcaller is Wonderland's best class is its Tier 6 Passive Skill, "Spirit Swarm," which creates a Spirit Swarm companion (similar to the Pixie companion) that seeks out enemy units and deals Elemental damage. Players will breeze through all the current content with so many skills that massively buff Elemental damage (unless Gearbox releases more challenging events).
