If you thought getting pegged in the eye with a regular dart hurt, wait till you see the damage the two biggest NERF guns in the world can do.

These fully functional, highly engineered guns were made to look like real NERF guns.

The world's largest and fully functional NERF gun is over 200 pounds and 12 ft 6-inches long. The world record was officially set on September 15, 2021, by Michael Pick from Huntsville, Alabama. The previous world record was set by the YouTuber and engineer Mark Rober who made a 4 ft tall and 6 ft long NERF pistol in 2016.

Check out Mark Rober's world's largest NERF pistol and the biggest NERF guns you can buy below!

The World's Largest Nerf Gun

YouTube Channel - Michael Pick

Michael's gun is three times the size of the original NERF gun that it is accurately modeled after and therefore took some solid engineering to make work.

After designing it in CAD, a Computer-Aided Design system, he made most of the gun out of plywood. For some of the more sophisticated parts of the gun, he used a 3D printer to help it look near identical to the N-Strike Icon Series Longshot CS-6.

The 12-inch darts it shoots are made of one and a half-inch PVC pipe covered in a pool noodle and topped off with a special 3D printed cap.

This massive NERF sniper is powered by a Tippman 3000 psi air tank that can shoot up to 80 psi per shot.

Michael was able to launch his big NERF ammo 250 feet and absolutely demolish a cinderblock with its power.

Mark Rober's Giant NERF Gun (2nd Biggest)

Mark Rober's massive NERF gun is no longer the world's largest, but it held that record for five years. His gun is still technically the largest functional NERF pistol.

YouTube Channel - Mark Rober

Mark designed his gun after the N-Strike Maverick Rev-6, a NERF revolver that has since been discontinued.

The original Maverick may not have been one of the best NERF pistols, but Mark has made it iconic due to his much larger creation.

His gun may only be about half the size of the new record holders, but man does it still pack an impressive punch.

While the normal Maverick gun shoots regular NERF darts around 40 feet, Mark's creation shoots a much bigger dart around 390 (130 yards).

The massive NERF gun is powered by a 3000 psi paintball air tank that allows 80 psi for each shot.

The Maverick is a six-shot gun, so Mark can shoot the full gun only about five times before needing an air refill.

If that isn't enough, Mark's friends Ryan and David reengineered this gun to fire with black powder. The result was a deafening blast that obliterated watermelons but is probably not the most effective way to launch NERF darts.

What is the Biggest NERF Gun You Can Buy?

Massive, one-of-a-kind NERF guns are fun and all, but what about the biggest you can actually buy?

The N-Strike Mega Mastodon is one of the biggest NERF guns you can buy at close to 3 feet long and weighing around seven and a half pounds. It is a powerful motorized blaster that holds 24 Mega darts and shoots them around 80 psi.

This may be the largest blaster shooting the biggest darts, but there are a few more powerful NERF gunsaround the same size and worth checking out.

HERE ARE THE 5 BIGGEST NERF GUNS YOU CAN BUY

1. NERF N-Strike Mega Mastodon

Biggest NERF Gun You Can Buy

The Biggest Nerf Guns in the World | NERF (1)

The NERF N-Strike Mega Mastodon is a fully automatic, flywheel-powered beast that shoots the bigger Mega darts.

This 24 round mega blaster may be discontinued, but you can still find it on Amazon.

This heavy blaster holds shoots at 80 feet per second which is solid considering its darts are heavier than the normal elite darts.

It has a tactical rail under the barrel and two more on the top compatible with N-Strike attachments—like scopes, grips, or extra ammo storage.

The Mastodon weighs around seven and a half pounds, so it may not be the best for agility, but it's an intimidating addition to any battle.

Specs:

  • Ammo Type: Mega Darts

  • Ammo Capacity: 24 rounds

  • Velocity: 80 feet per second
  • Range: 100 feet
  • Fire-Rate: 3 rounds per second
  • Powered: 6 D-cell batteries

Reasons to Buy:

  • Very accurate and powerful
  • Large ammo capacity and easy reloading
  • Soon to be discontinued

Reasons to Avoid:

  • Heavy

2. NERF N-Strike Elite Rhino-Fire

The Biggest Nerf Guns in the World | NERF (2)

The NERF N-Strike Elite Rhino-Fire is perhaps one of the coolest NERF blasters ever made. Who doesn't want to post up on a double-barrel turret on a tripod and absolutely obliterate in a NERF war?

You can detach the tripod and set it up at a new spot quickly to unload the two 25 dart drum clips on both sides of the gun.

The two muzzles move with an intimidating alternating fire, which makes this one of the most exciting blasters to use.

Another great thing about the Rhino-Fire is that it is compatible with other N-Strike magazines and drums, so you could upgrade with Titan CS-50 50 round drums to hold 100 darts!

There are also some great customization options with three tactical rails on the gun—one on top and one above each drum.

Like most other big NERF guns, the main issue is the price tag, it seems to increase with time, and they get harder to find.

Still, if you want to stand out or end a NERF war for good, this might be the way.

Specs:

  • Ammo Type: Elite Darts
  • Ammo Capacity: 50 rounds

  • Velocity: 70 fps
  • Range: 90 feet
  • Fire-Rate: 4 rounds per second
  • Powered: 6 D-cell batteries

Reasons to Buy:

  • High fire rate
  • Detachable tripod
  • Double barrel alternating fire
  • Compatible N-Strike mags and drums

Reasons to Avoid:

  • Expensive

3. NERF Rival Prometheus MXVIII-20K

The Biggest Nerf Guns in the World | NERF (3)

A large blaster that was fit to be named after a Greek god, the NERF Rival Prometheus MXVIII-20K is both massive and powerful!

This not so mini minigun shoots eight Rival Rounds per second at a whopping 100 FPS!

It is an automatic gun that includes a rechargeable 9.6V battery, but you can always get a 12V lipo battery and indulge a little better power.

The Prometheus has a massive hopper that can carry 200 rounds! The large hopper door also makes it so you can easily dump balls back into the gun for a quick reload!

The gun includes two tactical rails for any Rival attachments—one under the top front handle and another at the very bottom center of the gun.

Like all hopper-fed blasters, you will have to shake the gun to help it consistently feed, though the mechanical agitator helps take care of many ball clogs.

The NERF Rival Prometheus is expensive like the other big NERF guns on this list, but easily the best NERF machine gun on the market!

Specs:

  • Ammo Type: NERF Rival Rounds

  • Ammo Capacity:200 rounds

  • Velocity:90 feet per second
  • Range:100 feet
  • Fire-Rate:8 rounds per second
  • Powered: Rechargeable battery (Included)

Reasons to Buy:

  • Accurate, powerful, and high fire rate
  • Crazy big ammo capacity and simple reloading
  • It comes with a rechargeable battery

Reasons to Avoid:

  • Expensive
  • It uses a gravity-fed hopper that won't fire inverted

4. NERF N-Strike Elite Titan CS-50

The Biggest Nerf Guns in the World | NERF (4)

With a massive 50-dart ammo capacity, the NERF N-Strike Elite Titan CS-50 is a powerhouse right out of the box.

At close to three feet long, the Titan is hefty and a little hard to maneuver—but that's normal when you are lugging around a not so mini minigun!

It's a monster, but it doesn't feel uncomfortably heavy with the handle placement and sleek design.

The barrel rotates as you fire to boost the intimidation factor and the overall heavy gunner experience.

There is one tactical rail at the very end of the barrel, and it includes a shoulder strap to make carrying this monster a lot easier.

It is one of the slower shooting big guns, but three darts per second at 70 fps a shot is not much to complain about.

The Titan is overpriced now, but for big NERf enthusiasts, it is an awesome piece to a collection.

Specs:

  • Ammo Type: Elite Darts

  • Ammo Capacity: 50 rounds

  • Velocity: 70 feet per second
  • Range: 75 feet
  • Fire-Rate: 3 rounds per second
  • Powered: 4 D-cell batteries

Reasons to Buy:

  • Large ammo drum
  • It's a massive minigun!

Reasons to Avoid:

  • Expensive
  • Slower fire rate for a heavy gun

5. NERF Rival Nemesis MXVII-10K

The Biggest Nerf Guns in the World | NERF (5)

The NERF Rival Nemesis MXVII-10K may not be the biggest, but it may still be the best choice of all the heavy guns.

The Nemesis is arguably one of the best NERF guns available today and even tops many of our other lists—such as best automatic NERF guns.

This girthy Rival blaster is fully automatic, and flywheel-powered. It has a similar latch on top of the hopper-fed system that makes reloading the hyper rounds much easier than traditional darts.

The Nemesis can really hold about 130 rounds before you see any jamming issues. It pretty accurately slings balls at a whopping four rounds per second at around 90 fps.

This gun includes the 6 D cell batteries that power it, but you can also pick up NERF's Rival Rechargeable Battery, which will also increase the power of the gun.

The main drawbacks are centered around the gravity-fed hopper, which requires shaking the gun a bit while firing to help the balls feed correctly.

Otherwise, the Nemesis is a great choice because of its accuracy, large ammo capacity, and solid power.

Specs:

  • Ammo Type: Nerf Rival Rounds

  • Ammo Capacity: 100 rounds

  • Velocity: 90 feet per second
  • Fire-Rate: 4 rounds per second
  • Range: 100 feet
  • Powered: 6 D cell batteries
  • Colors: Red and blue

Reasons to Buy:

  • Lots of ammo
  • Easy reloading
  • Accurate

Reasons to Avoid:

  • It uses a gravity-fed hopper that won't fire inverted

Summary

It's no secret that big NERF guns are tons of fun and very entertaining to use.

There's nothing quite like decimating your foes with a gun that weighs as much as a healthy newborn baby.

Unfortunately, most of these big blasters also have a big price tag.

If you are looking for ones that won't break the bank, I recommend trying the Mega Mastadon or the Rival Nemesis.

Happy NERFing!
