Protein Bites Recipe | No Bake Healthy Energy Balls with step-by-step photo and video recipe. Indian cuisine does have a lot of authentic and traditional desserts and sweet recipes. But these are generally loaded with sugar or sugar alternatives which makes it less healthy and not so friendly for all age groups. However, this trend is gradually changing and there is more and more demand for healthy alternatives with no added sugar in it, and protein bites or energy balls are one such recipe.

I have posted quite a few energy or protein-rich recipes in my blog, but this is an extension of this recipe. Basically, apart from adding the easily available nuts and dry fruits, I have added seeds like flax seeds, sunflower seeds, and peanuts. The addition of these extra nuts makes it super healthy, filling, and more importantly a tasty snack. Well, you may term it as energy or protein balls, but I would like to name it as bites just because of the addition of these new nuts. Also, in my previous protein-rich snacks, I may have used jaggery for the sweetness. But this recipe is independent of any extra added sugars which makes it interesting and appealing. In addition, the combination of seeds and nuts added in it makes it filling and the best alternative to evening snacks. Do try this and let me know your thoughts about it.

Firstly, and more importantly, these are rich in nutrients and a good source of protein without any sugar. Yet it is better to be consumed in small batches and keep portion control. Overeating can lead to weight gain and other unforeseen issues. Secondly, you can experiment with a choice of flavors as an additional ingredient to it. For instance, you may add chocolate, rose, or even vanilla beans to make it more interesting and kids friendly. Lastly, choose high-quality ingredients, especially flax seeds, sunflower seeds, dry fruits, and dates. These are a key integral part of this recipe and hence high quality is recommended.
