Q: I only use the VRS setups from the datapacks and watch the driving tutorials. What plan do I need?
A: It depends on the datapack you are interested in. Some datapacks (notably the rookie series) allow Casual users (free subscription) to download datapack files (.sto, .rpy, .blap, .olap) and to watch the datapack tutorial videos. Other (“premium”) datapacks require a paid subscription to access datapack files and tutorials. Navigate to the datapack you are interested in and try accessing the files/tutorial. You’ll get an upgrade prompt for the “premium” datapacks.
Q: I am comparing my driving against datapacks all the time. What is the plan for me?
A: The free Casual plan only gives you an afternoon (or evening) of driving comparison per week. If you use the Driving Analyzer on a daily basis to compare yourself against a datapack or a teammate, you need to upgrade. If you only compare against a single datapack or a single team, the Dedicated plan is all you need. If you want the advanced features, or want more flexibility and unlimited access to all non-addon datapacks and teams, go with the Competitive plan.
Q: I do not use datapacks, but share setups and driving data with my teammates. Which subscription is right for me?
A: If you only share setups, the free Casual plan is all you need. If you compare yourself against a teammate several days per week, you need to upgrade. If you only compare against a single datapack or a single team, the Dedicated plan may be all you need. If you want the advanced features, or want more flexibility and unlimited access to all non-addon datapacks and teams, go with the Competitive plan.
Q: I am a team owner / manager and would like to pay the VRS subscriptions for my entire team. Can I do that?
A: Yes, you can pay the full subscription or subsidize a portion of the subscription. Make sure you have a credit or debit card on file on your VRS account and contact info@virtualracingschool.com describing your request. For example, if you would like to pay for 10 annual Dedicated subscriptions, we’ll charge your card the full amount for the 10 subscriptions and will issue coupon codes each worth the cost of one subscription. You can then distribute the coupon codes to your team. If you want to cover half the subscription cost, we’ll charge you for half the total cost and issue coupons each worth half the subscription fee.
1 Note that some features remain in BETA and as such are mostly unrestricted in all VRS plans. The limits and restrictions on these features will likely change for each plan once they come out of BETA.
2 Free access to non-personal lap data is granted weekly for a 4 hour continuous time window. The free access starts once you load restricted lap data (e.g. from datapacks or teams) and expires 4 hour later. Usage resets at the beginning of each race week (Monday night at midnight GMT). The intention is to give everyone a morning/afternoon/evening of free access. If you’d like to use driving comparison against restricted data on a regular basis, please upgrade.
3 You can pick either a team or a datapack to unlock unlimited driving comparison against. You cannot change your pick more frequently than once every 4 weeks. You’d be allowed to change your pick early if your selected datapack is closed (e.g. at the end of a season). Use your weekly free quota (see 2) to try the datapack or team data before making a pick. Your access to data beyond your unlocked datapack or team is subject to the 4 hours per week usage restriction (see 2).
4 Unused coaching hours roll-over to the next month. Accumulated and unused coaching hours are non refundable and non transferable.
