For example, even though nothing spectacular happens in the marina scene inWolf of Wall Street, itwas shot entirely on a production stage with the background composited in—simply because it was cheaper to do so. By contrast, the production team on Interstellar, which takes place partially in another dimension of the universe, built an enormous set on which they used mostlypractical effects, rather than CGI, to a mind-boggling degree.
