INFORMAL LETTER: INVITING PARENTS FOR YOUR GRADUATION CEREMONY

You should spend around 20 minutes on this task.
You will be graduating from university and would like to invite your family to the ceremony.
Write a letter of invitation to your parents. In the letter:
– Explain that you have completed your studies
– Give details of the event, including time, date and dress code
– Let them know how many tickets they have and who they are for
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear…..,
Write at least 150 words.
MODEL ANSWER:
Dear Mum and Dad,
Hope you both are doing well. I am so happy to write to you to welcome you for my graduation ceremony which is going to be held on the first week of next month.
Though all the six semesters were easy for me, the last two were really challenging, and so were the practical exams. I should really thank for the prayers and the emotional support you gave to me, which had a crucial role in my success. The ceremony will be held in the open lawn of my college at 6 pm, on 2 June and you both are expected to be there for 4.30 pm for photos. Everyone is instructed to be dressed formal. There will a dinner after the ceremony along with a concert.Three tickets are available per family. Please invite my uncle, Sam, as he is also a part of my success. I know that I should not have excluded Aunt Sally. I did try to get extra tickets but there are limited numbers of seats that can fit in the room.
