Hat Sizing (2024)

FIND YOUR PERFECT FIT

At Lock & Co., finding the perfect hat for you means finding the perfect fit. Use our simple guide to find the ideal hat for you. But remember, this is just a guide, and if there is a hat you love, chances are it will suit you. Confidence is the most important guide when choosing and wearing a hat.

Take our questionnaire

For those who are tall and slim with a narrow face, in general, you will suit a hat with a small brim and a narrower-fitting flat cap.

Round or square face shapes will generally suit a wide-brimmed hat or a fuller-shaped cap. We recommend for round or square face shapes that brims should be worn at an angle instead of straight. Our Sandwich and Muirfield caps are our fullest-shaped caps.

Hat Sizing (3)

The narrower-brimmed hats, such as our Telstar trilby with its distinctive teardrop-shaped sloped crown, are ideal for a slimmer frame.

Hat Sizing (4)

In general, if you are tall, you should not wear small hats and vice versa. This is true to some extent, but the most important aspect is the confidence your hat gives you.

Hat Sizing (5)

We recommend a looser fit for more comfortable, extended wear (4+ hours).
