WHAT ARE BYRNA LAUNCHERS?
The Byrna EP, SD and LE are compact non-lethal personal security devices developed by Byrna Technologies Inc.NASDAQ:BYRN. We believe these launchers to be the safest, most effective and most reliable non-lethal self-defense weapons on the market today. The Byrna’s ergonomic design and patented 1st shot pull-pierce technology, makes these launchers easy to use whether you are a private citizen or a seasoned law enforcement professional.
The Byrna handheld launchers can fire a range of .68 caliber projectiles from environmentally friendly practice rounds, to hard polymer (kinetic) rounds that can be used for training or self-defense, to chemical irritant rounds designed for self-defense. These chemical irritant rounds are engineered to burst upon impact, dispersing a cloud of powerful pepper and/or tear gas powder capable of disabling an attacker for up to 30 minutes.
The Byrna compact size and line of custom-made holsters and carry bags, makes the Byrna easy to take with you wherever you go. More importantly, with its patented “1st shot pull-pierce” technology, the Byrna is always ready to use. You can leave it in your nightstand, glovebox or by your front door for days, weeks, months or even years and it will always be ready to fire on the first pull of the trigger.
The Byrna range of launchers are manufactured from the highest quality glass-reinforced polymers and aircraft grade aluminum. They contain more than 100 precision parts, and incorporates patented technology that allows the Byrna to operate very much like a real firearm. The Byrna is the ideal choice whether you use it for training and self-defense or simply backyard fun.
ARE BYRNA PISTOLS AND RIFLES CONSIDERED TO BE FIREARMS BY THE BUREAU OF ALCOHOL TOBACCO AND FIREARMS?
No. Byrna Less-Lethal Self-Defense Pistols and Rifles are powered by compressed CO2 cartridges, just like a paintball or airsoft gun.
HOW DO I KNOW WHERE I CAN BRING MY BYRNA?
We recommend that you always check state and local regulations relating to CO2 powered launchers and pepper self-defense products before traveling with your Byrna. If you are unsure you can check with the local police department. For air travel questions see below.
HOW BIG ARE THE BYRNA EP / SD / LE LAUNCHERS?
Byrna handheld pistols are roughly the size of a compact 9mm handgun. We sell tactical holsters that have been custom designed to comfortably hold your Byrna as well as nylon holsters designed for compact 9mm handguns. Please see the Product Documents Page for more info.
HOW DO I CHANGE QUANTITIES OR CANCEL AN ITEM IN MY ORDER?
Once your order is placed, we are not able to modify or edit the order. We can cancel your order if it has not shipped, and you can reorder with the changes you would like to make. If it has shipped, you can return your order if it meets the return / cancellation requirements.
WHERE IS MY ORDER?
Once you have received tracking details indicating your order has shipped, it is always most efficient to contact the carrier directly with delivery questions. If you have not received tracking details, then it is likely your item has not shipped, and we will provide tracking information as soon as it is available. If you still have questions regarding tracking or delivery, please do not hesitate to contact Byrna customer service.
WHY IS THERE AN ITEM MISSING FROM MY SHIPMENT?
Often times items from an order will ship separately if one or more of the items is out of stock. Please check the packing list in your shipment and your order status page. We will provide tracking details for each item as they become available. Contact Byrna customer service with any questions regarding missing items or other order concerns.
WILL YOU SHIP THE BYRNA TO EVERY STATE IN THE U.S.?
The Byrna is legal in all 50 states, however, certain states place restrictions on the “pepper” and “tear gas” ammo. In addition, certain municipalities place restrictions on CO2 powered weapons such as the Byrna. Please see our Shipping Restrictions Page.
BYRNA MAX RESTRICTIONS
At this time, we do not ship any Byrna Max product to New York, Wisconsin, Michigan or California.
BYRNA PEPPER RESTRICTIONS
At this time, we do not ship any Byrna Pepper Projectiles to *California or New York.
Byrna has been approved by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services as a licensed training provider (see course here -Link). Interpretation of CA State Law indicates that our course and certification meets the requirements to allow California residents to be qualified to purchase chemical agents. CALIFORNIA RESTRICTIONS
State law in California only allows us to ship the TCR-Tactical Compact Rifle, Mission 4 rifle, and Byrna KINETIC launchers and kits. They only contain Kinetic Solid and Eco Kinetic projectiles. They do not contain the chemical rounds. We cant ship ANY products to San Francisco. Each customer is responsible for checking the law in his or her own area before purchasing any products as state, county, and local regulations may vary. NEW YORK RESTRICTIONS
We currently ship the Tactical Compact Rifle, Mission 4 rifle, and Byrna EP / SD / LE Kinetic kits. We CANNOT ship any MAX or PEPPER projectiles or PEPPER KITS to NY State.
NEW YORK CITY: We do not currently ship ANY products to New York City (5-Boroughs and Yonkers.) We do not offer legal advice. DAMAGED PRODUCTS POLICY
Byrna® launchers, Byrna Shields™, Byrna Banshees™ and Byrna launcher accessories and projectiles that are damaged or defective when received will be replaced at no charge to the customer provided that a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is requested within ten (10) days of receipt and the product is shipped within five (5) days of the RMA issuance.
*This policy provides for replacement of goods that arrive damaged or defective upon inspection with new products at no cost to the customer. Defects or operational issues that arise after this period will be repaired in accordance with our standard limited factory warranty.
CHANGE OF HEART POLICY
We understand that from time to time a customer has a change of heart after placing an order. Any order cancelled before shipping will be refunded in full. Returns of shipped products are accepted if Byrna is notified within fourteen (14) days of receipt of the product. Returned merchandise must be in the original packaging and in new and unused condition. All “change of heart” returns are subject to a restocking fee of 10% which will cover shipping and handling costs.
*Due to the critical nature of body armor, the Byrna Shield IIIA and Byrna Shield III+ are not eligibile for return and refund.

LIMITED FACTORY WARRANTY
The Byrna personal security device is warranted by Byrna Technologies Inc., solely to the original retail purchaser, to be delivered free from factory defects in materials and workmanship,under normal use, for a period of one year from the original date of purchase. To obtain warranty coverage, the warranty holder must (i) provide proof of original purchase, and (ii) the defective device must be safely and securely packaged and shipped before the expiration of the warranty period to Byrna Technologies Inc.'s designated service center in accordance with instructions provided with the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). The buyer’s remedy under this warranty is limited, at the sole option of Byrna Technologies Inc., to a refund or credit to buyer of the price, or replacement of the defective device or other product. Byrna Technologies Inc. shall have the sole authority to determine if a claim is covered by this limited warranty.
EXCLUSIVITY OF WARRANTY AND LIMITATION OF REMEDIES
The remedy set forth above is the exclusive remedy for breach of the foregoing warranty. Except for the limited warranty expressly set forth above, Byrna Technologies Inc. makes no express or implied warranties or representations with respect to any Byrna® products, including any warranty of merchantability, warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, or warranty against infringement of intellectual property rights of a third-party. Buyers and owners are prohibited from making any warranty or representation regarding any Byrna® product that is inconsistent with the express, limited factory warranty set forth above. To the extent that applicable law does not permit for a disclaimer of express or implied warranties, Byrna Technologies Inc. hereby limits all express and implied warranties to one (1) year from the date of the original retail purchase.
PROHIBITED USES, ALTERATION, VOIDABILITY OF WARRANTY
Owners should not attempt taking apart or repairing of the Byrna, or using it with any unauthorized or incompatible accessories, projectiles, or gas cartridges. Any alteration, abuse, misuse, neglect, or attempt to disassemble the device or use or install any unapproved third party product may void the warranty. The warranty also may be voided if the Byrna or any accessory or other product is improperly handled, stored or shipped.
END USER’S ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Before use, the user shall determine the suitability of the product for its intended use, read and understand all instructions, warnings and safety considerations provided in this manual, take all reasonable precautions to ensure its safe use, and assume all risks and liabilities in connection with the purchase, possession, and discharge of the Byrna. Byrna Technologies Inc. shall have no liability nor shall it assume any obligation to the purchaser of any Byrna® device or any third party for any special, non-compensatory, consequential, indirect, incidental, statutory, or other damages whatsoever, including, without limitation, punitive damages, lost profits , lost opportunities, lost revenue, loss of consortium, or other damage loss or injury whatsoever, regardless of the form of action and regardless of whether it sounds in contract, negligence, statutory or common law liability, or otherwise, known or unknown, even if foreseeable or explicitly informed, in any amount greater than the amounts paid by buyer to Byrna Technologies Inc. for the products, unless due to the gross negligence or willful misconduct of Byrna Technologies Inc. The limitations set forth above shall be deemed to apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and notwithstanding the failure of the essential purpose of any limited remedies. Any buyer who does not agree to this assumption of risk may return the products purchased, in their original packaging, unused, and in original condition within 7 days of purchase.
