Hey MrBridges, we understand that you have questions related to why there are flags in markings located across your front yard. We're here to help.

We work with local utility companies to identify gas, electric, and water lines that are already in your yard. They mark these existing utilities with painted lines and flags to help our crew determine where they’ll bury the new cable.

We would advise that you do not remove the markings or flags.

Please let us know if that helps answer your question.

I realize I do not own the easem*nt and have no problem with flags if they are necessary. But nobody wants flags in their front yard indefinitely. I just want to know when the work is finished so I can remove them. How do I find this out? How long would you leave them?

You will know when the work will be finished as the flags mark where they will be digging

Perhaps the flags were to mark where your sprinkler lines are.

The Flags say "Caution Hand Dig ATT/D Fiber!!" There is nowhere for them to dig period without hitting any of the water lines!! We have lines in the flower bed and water line running to the street. And there are gas lines! I need assurances that my irrigation system will not be destroyed, that we won't lose water, that I don't lose power, AND that they don't blow this friggin house up!

@SWSaysWhat

You do not know who order the locate service (811), the flags means ATT Fiber is already underground.

While ATT May be running additional line, it could also be any other company planning on digging including local cable, electric, gas or sewer.

If your area requires permits before digging check with local government to determine who requested the permit. May want to also check with them about easem*nt and easem*nt rights.
