Exie
The Exie is a World-Cup capable cross-country race bike that flat out shreds. With a sub 2,000g frame weight and dw-link suspension, it offers a stunning combination of pedaling efficiency and downhill performance. We designed, built, and tested it in our Santa Cruz factory, which is powered by the warm California sunshine.
Built by US
We build each Exie in our Northern California factory. This gives us the utmost control, which enable us to hit remarkable frame strength, stiffness, and weight targets for this frame. Learn more about the process.
Size Specific Seat Angles
Whether you’re racing short track or on amulti day epic, the Exie’s seat tube angles allows you to harness your strongest muscles, while reducing any potential knee or wrist strain. We’ve also steepened the seat tube angles as the frames get larger, to allow riders with different inseams to achieve the same riding positions.
DW-Link Suspension
Don’t squander asingle watt. Our dw-link suspension platform offers incredible climbing efficiency and traction along with plush, downhill-crushing goodness.
Ride More, Wrench Less
We use bushings where it makes sense and bearings where it doesn’t. The IGUS bushings in our lower link are lighter, stiffer, and virtually maintenance free. We’ve also added features like athreaded bottom bracket to help make any future maintenanceeasy.
Internal Cable Routing
Internal cable routing doesn’t have to be apain. We’ve added internal tubes to our tubes, no picksets, flashlights, or swear words required.
2.4” Tire Clearance
You can run overbuilt, chunky tires; you can run light, big volume fast tires, but whatever you run, you’re not limited bywidth.
2x Bottle Clearance
The Exie has clearance for two water bottles inside the front triangle on every sizeframe.
Integrated chain guide
Drop the hammer, not yourchain.
Seven Year Warranty
If it’s our fault, we’ll fix it. Simple asthat.

Exie Specific FAQs
Where is the Exie manufactured?
We manufacturer the Exie in Santa Cruz County.
Will the Ibis Exie be available as a frame only option?
Yes, we plan to offer the Exie as a frame only with shock in late 2022. The frame will retail for $5,000.
Where can I find the manual?
All our manuals are available here. You can also find the Quick Setup guide for the Exie in the 'Setup' tab on the right.
Can I run a shorter or longer fork on the Exie?
We recommend a 120mm travel fork on the Exie. A 100mm fork will take the Exie from downcountry to World Cup XC. We recommend those interested in overforking the Exie take a closer look at the Ripley.
What is the longest fork I can run on the Exie?
120mm.
What fork offset should I run? Can I run a different fork offset?
The Exie is optimized around a 44mm fork offset. The 51mm offset fork shortens the trail (the distance between the contact patch and the steering axis), which can cause the front end to feel less stable.
Can I put a coil shock on Exie?
No, the Exie is not compatible with a coil shock.
What’s the largest rear tire I can mount?
The Exie can accommodate a 2.4” rear tire.
What’s the max chainring I can put on my Ibis?
The Exie is designed to run between 30t-36t round chainrings.
Can I put an Oval chainring on my bike?
Compatible oval chainrings sizes are 28t-34t, however not all oval chainrings are the same, so we recommend double-checking clearance before riding.
Can I mount a chain guide?
The Exie has an integrated top mount chain guide that attaches to our lower link. If you’d like to run an after market guide, you can use a BB to ISCG-5 spacer instead of a regular BB spacer.
Where can I get a spare derailleur hanger or axle for my Exie?
The Exie uses a Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) and axle which was developed by SRAM. You can source these parts through any good retailer. The hanger part number is AC-DRHG-MTB-A1. The SRAM Maxle Stealth Rear Through Axle (12x148 174mm shaft length, 180mm overall length) is 710845856129.
What size water bottle can I fit on my Exie?
The Exie can fit 1x 26 oz and 1x 22 oz Purist bottles on all sizes when the Arundel side loader cage is used.
How much does a complete bike weigh?
A medium Exie frame weighs 4.4 lbs (1.999 kg) with shock. Weight for a complete bike starts at 22.2 lbs.
Does the Exie have a weight limit?
No, there is no weight limit for the Exie frame. The max pressure for the stock Fox DPS shock is 300 PSI.
Where can I find torque specs?
You can find torque specs for the Exie in the tab above, or by checking our manual here.
