Estamos en una época en la que aprender idiomas es fundamental para los alumnos, son una manera ideal para ampliar tus conocimientos pero sólo con aprender idiomas en la escuela no es suficiente.

Babbel posiblemente sea la app que más os suene ya que comparado con Duolingo es mucho más longeva (desde2008) y cuenta con millones de usuarios. Esta app tiene una versión para PC y también para smartphone, pero la metodología es igual. Actualmente Babbel ofrece aprendizaje de 14 idiomas y está enfocada a ser cómo una clase de idiomas de un colegio. Es una app ideal para comenzar un idioma desde cero y se centran mucho en la explicación de la gramática y el vocabulario, y cuenta con otras secciones como refranes, canciones o ejercicios. Esta app es de pago y pese a que estés un tiempo sin usarla tu progeso se mantiene, y luego la misma app te recomienda ejercicios de repaso. Babbel se asemeja mucho a una clase de idiomas y todo su contenido está muy enfocado para aquellas personas mayores que quieren aprender idiomasde manera autodidacta.
Duolingo
Duolingo es algo más nueva que Babbel, pero a su vez también cuenta con millones de usuarios activos. El enfoque que tiene Duolingo es muy distinto al que tiene Babbel, ya que Duolingo tiene una interfaz que le hace funcionar como un juego. Es una app muy útil para repasar el contenido aprendido en la escuela ya que cuenta con 25 niveles y su asemejanza a un juego hace que sea muy divertido aprender. Una ventaja que ofrece Duolingo es que si estás mucho tiempo sin usarla te notifica por correo electrónico y va restándote el progreso, cómo los conocimientos de los idiomas que uno aprende, con el tiempo si no practicas se van perdiendo, por lo que Duolingo en cierto modo obliga al usuario a usarla de manera diaria para retener el contenido aprendido. Lo bueno de Duolingo es que es completamente gratis y en la versión española, actualmente 7 idiomas y la metodología en todas ellas es la misma, el aprendizaje es mediante ejercicios. Aprender idiomas a través de eesta app hace que sea divertida y es ideal para los niños ya que aprenden y se divierten a la vez.

Como hemos podido ver, ambas apps son ideales para aprender idiomas pero tienen unos enfoques distintos. Duolingo al funcionar a base de juegos y niveles es ideal para los niños, ya que sirve para repasar lo aprendido en la escuela y sobretodo para divertirse. Por el otro lado, Babbel está mucho más equipada y una persona puede aprender un idioma de manera autodidacta con ella. Es una app ideal para aquellos adolescentes y adultos que quieren repasar el contenido que saben y para aprender idiomas desde cero.
