James Aaron Siegel is an American scientist who founded the SCP Foundation in the 1800s. Siegel would eventually retire from this position and became O5-1. He fathered Dr. Charles Gears, who would eventually join the Foundation to become one of its most renowned members.[1]

Biography[]
Early life[]
Aaron Siegel was born in 1866 in Essex County, New Jersey. He eventually became a physicist studying at Cornell University. Siegel was extremely intelligent, becoming a highly renowned scientist at his place of study.
Discovery of the anomalous[]
Siegel joined several organizations involving the occult, eventually meeting the Gate Guardian in Iraq. Contrary to other commands from the angel, the Guardian told him to "PROTECT".[5] Siegel disappeared from public record after 1891, possibly founding the SCP Foundation.[1]
He sired a child, who would later become known as Dr. Charles Gears. Siegel also discovered a way to expand his lifespan, which allowed him to live well past the average human lifespan. It's possible that he is a shape-shifter, as well; he was spotted as an old man in the company of O5-2 and as a young teenager from security bunker footage.[1]
Alternate realities[]
Dr. Mann's Proposal[]
One day, while at his family home in Essex County, he discovered a gravel path that went far longer than it should have, before inexplicably returning him to where he started. Siegel built a shack nearby where he devised many experiments, one of which produced SCP-005.
Several others joined Siegel, including his brother, Thomas Carter, and fiancée Agnes Peterson, creating the SCP Foundation. They all created various anomalous items, including SCP-006, SCP-018, SCP-011. They eventually moved on to lifeforms, creating SCP-014 and SCP-007. Siegel also accidentally made SCP-033 during an experiment in his laboratory. He eventually disappeared over time as the early Foundation created more and more terrible creatures.[4]
Ecce Perago[]
In this reality, O5-1 converted himself into a mechanical being, buried deep underground. During Everett Mann's assassination of the entire O5 Council, he discovered O5-1's location and shut his systems down before pouring liquid concrete into the vents. He accepted this, dying as he should have done a long time ago.[6]
After his death, a message was sent to his son, Charles Gears, who took his mantle as O5-1.[7]
